A Big Step for Fair Maps in Virginia
You don’t want to miss this!
Hi friend,
In case you missed it, Virginia Democrats just took a major step to protect free and fair elections by passing a constitutional amendment that would allow the state to redraw congressional districts mid-decade — a tool designed to push back against nationwide GOP gerrymanders meant to rig elections and lock in unfair power.
Just as importantly, this proposal keeps Virginia’s bipartisan redistricting commission in place for the regular cycle and ensures the final decision belongs where it should: with the people. If the Senate approves it and it heads to a statewide referendum, Virginia voters will decide whether the state should have the power to protect fair representation through 2030.
Thank you for standing with us!
