A Big Win for Voter Privacy in Michigan
You don’t want to miss this!
Hi friend,
In case you missed it, a federal judge just delivered a major win for voter privacy and election integrity in Michigan.
U.S. District Judge Hala Jarbou rejected the Trump administration’s attempt to force the state to turn over sensitive voter data — including birth dates, addresses, and partial Social Security numbers for more than 8 million voters. Her ruling made it clear that federal law does not authorize the Justice Department to demand deeply personal registration information.
Even more importantly, Judge Jarbou warned that requiring disclosure of private voter data could create an unconstitutional burden on the right to vote. That’s huge. When people worry their personal information could be exposed or misused, it chills participation and undermines trust in our elections.
Thank you for standing with us!
