In case you missed it, Virginia just took a major step forward for moms and families.

Governor Abigail Spanberger signed a comprehensive “momnibus” package into law, expanding maternal healthcare coverage, increasing access to mental health screenings, and improving care for high-risk pregnancies.

These changes will help ensure more women get the care they need before, during, and after pregnancy — addressing a crisis that has impacted far too many families, especially Black mothers who face disproportionately high risks.

From better tracking of complications to expanded remote monitoring and mental health support, this legislation is about saving lives and strengthening families.
