In case you missed it, California is taking a stand to protect our coasts, communities, and environment from reckless oil expansion.

Attorney General Rob Bonta has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to block an attempt to restart offshore drilling under a so-called “national emergency” — one that experts say simply doesn’t exist. The move would sidestep critical environmental protections put in place after past oil spills and put wildlife, public health, and coastal communities at risk.

This fight is about more than one project. It’s about stopping policies that put corporate profits ahead of clean water, safe communities, and climate progress and defending the right of states to enforce laws that protect people.
