A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration's attempt to obtain the names and personal contact information of every election worker who served during the 2020 election in Georgia's Fulton County.

Election workers are the backbone of our democracy. They help ensure that every eligible voter can cast a ballot and that elections are conducted fairly, securely, and efficiently. They should never have to fear harassment or political retaliation simply for carrying out this essential public service.

The court recognized that the government's sweeping request was unreasonable and could discourage people from serving as poll workers in future elections.
