ICYMI: Court Saves $1B in School Mental Health Funding

You don’t want to miss this!

Hi friend,

In case you missed it, we just saw a major win for students, educators, and public school safety. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has blocked Donald Trump’s attempt to slash nearly $1 billion in mental health funding for schools — funding created after tragedies like Parkland and Uvalde to help districts hire counselors, psychologists, and support staff.

A coalition of states challenged the cuts, and both the district court and the appeals court agreed: Trump’s move was likely illegal, “arbitrary and capricious,” and had no legal basis. Judges from both parties made it clear that these vital grants cannot be dismantled on a political whim.

Thank you for standing with us!

In solidarity,
