Representative Maxwell Frost and Senator Richard Blumenthal have introduced the Right to Record Act, legislation designed to protect the public’s ability to film, observe, and peacefully document federal law enforcement activity, including ICE operations.

The bill recognizes a simple principle: in a democracy, people have the right to witness what government officials do in their name. It would prohibit federal agents from intimidating, threatening, or retaliating against people who record law enforcement activity and create real consequences for violations.
