ICYMI: Democrats Launch Election Protection Effort

Democratic state parties are launching a nationwide election-protection initiative ahead of November’s midterms. The New Battlefield Project plans to train thousands of volunteers to assist voters at polling places, document potential intimidation, encourage early voting, and help state parties share information about election-related disinformation and other potential disruptions.

Organizers say volunteers will receive training on issues such as helping voters find the correct polling location and providing information about provisional ballots. The project also includes an early-voting campaign and a “democracy defense network” focused on identifying and responding to potential election-related threats.
