ICYMI: Federal Judge Blocks Trump's Flawed Voter Investigations!

U.S. District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to stop using error-filled voter data for election-related investigations in nine states. The Trump administration had been sending federal agents door to door to investigate suspected noncitizen voters, but the judge found that unreliable records could lead to American citizens being wrongly targeted.

The ruling follows a lawsuit challenging the administration's tactics, which voting rights advocates argue could intimidate eligible voters and discourage civic participation. Although enforcement of the order was temporarily delayed to give the administration time to appeal, the decision represents an important step toward protecting voters from investigations based on questionable information.
