ICYMI: House Democrats Defended Congress’s War Powers
You don’t want to miss this!
Hi friend,
In case you missed it, House Democrats just scored an important victory for accountability, constitutional checks and balances, and the rule of law.
The U.S. House passed a war powers resolution requiring Donald Trump to either seek congressional authorization for continued military action in Iran or withdraw U.S. forces. After repeated attempts, Democrats built enough support to advance the measure, with several Republicans joining them to defend Congress’s constitutional role.
This vote sends a powerful message: decisions about war and peace should not rest in the hands of one person alone. The Constitution gives Congress the responsibility to authorize military conflicts so the American people have a voice before our nation becomes entangled in prolonged wars.
Thank you for standing with us!
