ICYMI: Idaho Court Protects Patients and Doctors

A federal judge has blocked Idaho from punishing doctors who provide abortions when necessary to prevent serious physical or mental health harms, ruling that the state’s near-total restrictions violated constitutional protections.

The decision means patients facing grave pregnancy complications won’t have to wait until their conditions become life-threatening before doctors can provide necessary care. It also recognizes that mental health risks deserve the same serious consideration as physical ones.
