ICYMI: New York Expands Free, Universal Child Care
You don’t want to miss this!
Hi friend,
In case you missed it, New York leaders just delivered a major win for working families. Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a bold expansion of free, universal child care — bringing New York City closer to guaranteeing free care for all children under five and expanding access statewide.
The plan fully funds free child care for 2-year-olds, expands the city’s 3K program, and moves New York toward universal pre-K across the state. Nearly 100,000 more children will gain access to high-quality care and early education — easing costs for parents, supporting child development, and strengthening communities at a time when families are feeling stretched thin.
✍️ Add your name to applaud Governor Hochul and Mayor Mamdani for expanding free, universal child care and standing up for working families!
Thank you for standing with us!
In solidarity,
