ICYMI: NYC Secures $131.5 Million for DoorDash Workers

New York City has reached a $131.5 million settlement with DoorDash over violations of the city’s delivery-worker pay laws. More than $115 million will go directly to over 260,000 workers who were underpaid, paid late, or not paid at all. City officials describe it as the largest worker settlement in NYC history and the largest U.S. municipal settlement involving food-delivery workers.

Workers do not need to file claims or submit evidence to receive compensation because the city has already identified those eligible through DoorDash’s records. The agreement also establishes three years of monitoring, including monthly data reports from DoorDash and a new system allowing workers to share their trip and earnings data directly with regulators.
