The American Academy of Pediatrics has filed a lawsuit to stop nearly $12 million in federal grant cuts that support critical child health programs — cuts the group says were made in retaliation for speaking out in defense of evidence-based medicine and vaccines.

These grants help pediatricians serve rural communities, prevent sudden infant death, support newborn hearing screenings, and protect kids from lifelong health challenges. By taking this fight to court, pediatricians are putting children and families first and making clear that protecting kids’ health should never be political.
