ICYMI: Texas Landowners Challenge Big Bend Wall

Texas landowners are taking the Trump administration to court over plans to build border barriers and related infrastructure across the remote Big Bend region. Conserve Big Bend and six landowners argue that the government improperly designated the area as one of “high illegal entry” to invoke expedited construction authority, including for projects crossing private property.

Conserve Big Bend says roughly 65% of the planned project would cross private land, and some property owners say construction could divide family ranches, disrupt farming and irrigation, and restrict access to the Rio Grande. The lawsuit asks a federal court to review the government’s use of its border-construction authority in the region.
