ICYMI: Universal School Meals Pass in Seattle

IYCMI, Seattle is making school meals free for every public school student. Led by Mayor Katie Wilson, the city approved $3.6 million to provide free breakfast and lunch to roughly 49,000 students beginning this school year.

The program means families won’t have to meet income requirements to get help, while students can focus on learning instead of worrying about their next meal. Seattle is also expanding food assistance for lower-income students during weekends and school breaks.
