Major News Outlets Just Said “No” to Censorship

In case you missed it — some of America’s top journalists just sent a powerful message to the Trump administration: the free press cannot be silenced.

Outlets like The Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, NPR, Reuters, and The Guardian refused to sign the Pentagon’s new policy that would restrict what reporters can cover and where they can go. The proposed pledge would have forced journalists to give up their independence — and they refused.

Their stand is about more than journalism. It’s about protecting democracy itself. When the government tries to control what the public can know, it’s the press that must draw the line — and that’s exactly what they did.
