Happy Monday! In a major victory for democracy and the rule of law, a federal judge has blocked Donald Trump’s attempt to deploy National Guard troops to Oregon and California without state consent. The court ruled that there is no rebellion, no insurrection, and no justification for militarizing peaceful American communities.

And in more good news: New Mexico is expanding health care and food assistance, Uber and Lyft drivers just won a historic union deal in California, and a federal judge blocked Trump’s cruel plan to jail migrant children in adult detention centers.
