Newsom speaks out against Trump's remarks, judge temporarily blocks Big Bend construction, and more!

October 07, 2026

Hi friend,

Happy Wednesday! California Governor Gavin Newsom is speaking out after Trump’s remarks about Los Angeles and San Diego, calling for the 25th Amendment and arguing that comments involving potential attacks on American cities should be taken seriously. Newsom wasn’t alone in pushing back, with leaders from both sides also criticizing the remarks.

There’s even more to celebrate today: A federal judge has temporarily halted border wall construction throughout the Big Bend region, Disney is challenging government actions it says violated its constitutional rights, and orphaned rescue kittens got an adorable field trip to meet sharks and stingrays at an aquarium in the Mall of America.

Let’s dive into the good news! 💛
