Happy Tuesday! Leaders in 25 states and Washington, D.C. are fighting to protect healthcare by suing to block new Medicaid work requirements they say would create unnecessary red tape and cause eligible Americans to lose coverage, even when they're already working or qualify for exemptions.

There's more good news today: the Supreme Court preserved access to late-arriving mail ballots in a setback for Trump, the Justice Department suffered its 11th straight loss in its campaign to obtain states' voter rolls, and Texas Democrats are uniting ahead of the midterms.
