Court rejects Trump administration, New Mexico bans uranium mining on 13 million acres, and more!

Happy Friday. A federal appeals court has rejected the Trump administration’s request to impose new restrictions on mail-in voting before November’s midterms. The First Circuit declined to pause a lower court injunction preventing the U.S. Postal Service from implementing the challenged rules, meaning the existing protections will remain in place for now as Election Day approaches.

There’s even more good news today: The Supreme Court has again declined to intervene in the ongoing dispute over Missouri’s congressional maps, New Mexico has moved to protect millions of acres of state land from uranium mining, and new U.S. citizens celebrated taking their oath of allegiance at a naturalization ceremony in Springfield!
