Court rules Trump’s use of troops in LA was unlawful, Walz pushes new gun safety laws, and more!

Hi friend,

Happy Wednesday! In a powerful rebuke of presidential overreach, a federal judge has ruled that Donald Trump’s use of federal troops in Los Angeles was unlawful — striking down his attempt to turn the military into a “national police force with the president as its chief.”

And in more good news: Governor Tim Walz is calling a special session to propose an assault weapons ban, AmeriCorps funding has been restored in Kentucky after Democrats sued the Trump administration, and Gavin Newsom ramps up redistricting push.

Let’s dive into the good news! 💛
