Happy Wednesday! California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a package of new laws establishing additional safeguards and oversight around immigration enforcement. The measures include restrictions on masked law-enforcement officers and certain enforcement equipment, limits on using state property for immigration operations, and more!

There’s even more good news today: news organizations are asking a court to prevent the White House from enforcing restrictions on their access, Trump’s own website confirms he lost the 202 election, and a woman is bringing hundreds of free books to children through her magical traveling Storybook Maze.
